The Story so far……..

Some time a while ago, @frostiecuk made a heartfelt plea to Platform-A for the services of a new shiny silver pen similar to the one he had collected some months before at the A4U Expo. Unbeknown to @frosticuk at the time of blogging and twittering his request did he know that his Platform A Pen had in fact been Pen N@apped.

Then on one sunny afternoon at 1:41 Twitter Time, @frostiecuk received the first message from the Pen N@ppers. At first the demands were few and far between, with @frostiecuk and a few of his Twitter friends waiting in fear of what may come. Was the image in the link http://twitpic.com/31mev sent really the pen @frostiecuk thought he had lost?

With the alleged Pen N@ppers looking for a wider audience, at 2:21 the same afternoon, a little reminder of how dangerous they could be were brought to the attention of those watching their Twitter updates via this link http://twitpic.com/31ny5 and the message

‘We are not to be taken likely’.

With a lack of response or reaction, and @frostiecuk somewhat sidetracked twittering away with the founder of @sharemyplaylist, the Pen N@ppers made a plea to @swifty7. The word had started to spread by 4 o’clock that afternoon and the Pen N@ppers allowed its captor two words only http://twitpic.com/31sqp. Some 20 minutes later with another demand for more followers, with @frosties_pen unsure of his fate, he called out for ‘Help!’

Somewhat concerned @swifty7 started to try and scare the Pen N@ppers claiming she had notified the authorities. Unfazed by the claim the Pen N@ppers continued to demand more followers and publicity. @frostiecuk however, continued to go about his day in the normal manner to which he was accustomed. The Pen N@ppers at this point were getting somewhat disillusioned and were unsure as to whether @frostiecuk and his original heartfelt claim to Platform-A was maybe just a ploy to extract some new stationery for his office without dipping in to the budgets for the new tax year.

@frosties_pen was now becoming more and more worried and again called out, ‘ Papa, Can You Hear Me?’. The Hours passed and with still no response the Pen N@ppers asked ‘ Is There Anybody Out There?’.

The night passed and with it being the Easter Weekend, people seemed more interested in their bank holiday jollies that that of the fate of @frosties_pen!

No demands as of yet had been made, but the Pen N@ppers continued to taunt @frostiecuk late in the evening of the 10th, he received a tweet, ‘Your pen is doing well for now but Are You Lonesome Tonight?’

It didn’t seem that @frosties_pen was having much fun that Easter weekend as he was repeatedly heard to be calling out and saying ‘I Want to Break Free’. Then @frosties_pen felt he had a chance. The Pen N@ppers had left him alone for the first time since his Pen N@pping. Not knowing if anyone was listening, and if they were, were at all interested, @frosties_pen cried out for help, ‘Can anybody hear me? The kidnappers have all gone out. Can someone come and get me?’.

24 hours had passed, no response to his plea from the day before, @frosties_pen was becoming very anxious. Not knowing when the Pen N@ppers were to return he called out again, ‘Is anybody coming, I;m  alone in a big country house somewhere, someone save me, quick before they come.  Back.’ For @frosties_pen things just started to get worse, as at around 12:30 that day, the 13th, unlucky for some, the Pen N@ppers returned. They put out a message to anyone that was still following the fate of @frosties_pen. ‘Pen N@pped, Why?’, they claimed. Although not a direct message to @frostiecuk, the following was surely for his benefit. ‘You Want What We Got’, they claimed, followed the following day by, ‘What Are You Going To Do?’.

With a total lack of response, and with no-one taking the bait, or the fact they were simply not interested in some crazy story of the Platform A pen that got Pen N@pped, the Pen N@ppers were now somewhat peeved and their patience started to grow thin. Early afternoon on the 14th, some 5 days after the initial contact had been made, the Pen N@ppers felt that no one was in fact taken notice even though they had called for the services of ‘Mr Torture’ and providing pictures of what he was capable of. Faced by the thought of what was to come, @frosties_pen simply asked, ‘Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?’. What then followed remained unannounced. Was @frostiecuk worried for his Platform A pen? Another day had passed, and it appeared that @frostiecuk was more worried about his stomach than his pen as he calmly twittered that he was starving with a capital ‘S’. But so too was his pen, in fact, @frosties_pen was ‘Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door’.

A week into the ordeal @frosties_pen somehow began to find some inner strength. From where no-one quite knows but at lunchtime on April 16th @frosties_pen stood up and quietly said, ‘No matter the torture’, ‘I Will Survive’.

Having been quiet for a few days, the Pen N@ppers were closely watching the situation, carefully planning the next step, planning their next move.  With 13 followers by the evening of the 16th, was this to be unlucky?

With the Pen N@ppers almost having what they wanted, would @frosties_pen be of any further use to them, did anyone care? With so many questions left awaiting answers, @frosties_pen was keen to add one of his own. ‘If you no longer need me, why can’t you just’, he paused for a moment, ‘Send me on my way’.

Not expecting a direct response, the Pen N@ppers simply replied, ‘we can’t let you go until we hear’, turning to face @frosties_pen, ‘Voices in a Dream’, telling us to,  ‘Set You FREE’.

WTF thought @frosties_pen, are these people crazy?, something I am sure anybody reading this may also be thinking. But for @frosties_pen, the reasons behind his Pen N@pping was slowly but surely coming to him. Having had enough he shouted, ‘I Wanna Break Out’.

That night was long for @frosties_pen as he had spent much of it thinking of ways in which he could escape. All this was to no avail as shortly after midday on the 18th April  the Pen N@ppers their faces still covered, came up close to @frosties_pen and in a tone of voice not heard before whispered, ‘We have what we want, we no longer need you @frosties_pen’. All went silent as the Pen N@ppers slowly removed their masks to reveal their true identity for the first time and said, ‘ Live your life be free’.

‘I’m Free’, asked @frosties_pen, bemused by the fact that he was in fact free to go. But who were his Pen_N@ppers? The faces were familiar, but a name eluded him. What the heck, ‘Coming Home Papa @frostiecuk’ exclaimed @frosties_pen, ‘Take me home country roads’.

No more was heard from @frosties_pen for a few days, then out of the blue, he made contact as the quest drew to a close. Shortly before 1pm on the 21st, the twitter world, more importantly the followers of @frosties_pen received the following message;

@frosties_pen would like to let all concerned followers know that he is Alright Now. @frostiecuk I’m coming home.
